Milan

The City

Milan is in the North of Italy. It is known as "The City of Fashion" as its most famous designers have conquered the world. To name some: Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, John Richmond...infinite list.

Ready to host the EXPO of 2015, Milan is preparing and upgrading its status. Modern is the new key to the city. New building are built that resemble the new modern and futuristic style of living.

Milan is not only a fashionable city but also a historic one. It has many important museums and architectural buildings that make the city unique and nice to live in. Like every big city in the world, it is very chaotic as many people have to go to work each day.

Fashion events are held in Milan quite often, as many charity organizations like to raise awareness by presenting fashion icons and various celebrities.

Not only fashion!

Milan has so much more than fashion.

It's great architecture make this city stand out. The Duomo of Milan, situated right at the center of the city. A meeting pont for many, tourists and locals, where all the shopping starts. The symbol of the city, a very inspiring Gothic Church that has to be visited. Inside it, many paintings and sculptures and found. Moreover, you can go and visit this church from the very top. Whether you love the stairs or the lift, the Duomo has the possibility of entertaining a lot of people from its very top. The view is fantastic as you can see the city from the very top of the building.

Another very important building is the "Santa Maria delle Grazie " a very beautiful monument that symbolizes the city for by her artistic side. The famous painting of "The Last Supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci is kept inside, and an enormous quantity of tourist groups goes there everyday to visi the unique beauty of the arts.

The Sforza Castle, is another main attraction that at night, illuminates the center of the city with its beautiful light and magical fountain. It used to be the home of the royal family, Sforza. Now it is a free-entrance museum showing all the amazing furniture and historical background of the castle.

The Arch of Peace is another important monument present in the city of Milan. With its great historical background it is surrounded by very cosy restaurants and bars and a beautiful enormous park that lays in the background.

The Vittorio Emanuele Gallery is another pleasant place to be where shopping takes control of your mind. Many shops and small bars are found inside the gallery and a little walk through it to see the beauty is compulsory.

Fashion Week

Every year, fashion week is the big event of the city. Models from all around the world and world-wide designers come together with hairstylists and make-ups artists to create the most beautiful event of the year.

The months to be aware of are February/March and September/October, where the spring/summer collections and autumn/winter collections are held. The absolute preview of the work of the designers is very important to the world, as each designer put up a choreography with its models that becomes an actual and proper show to watch.

Transport

Like every big city, Milan has its transportation which includes bus, undergrounds, bicycles, cabs, trams, over-grounds, sightseeing buses.

Milan is trying to develop its "green policy" by introducing more vehicles that are harming less the environment, this is why most of the buses are "green".

Malpensa and Linate are the two airports of the city, Malpensa being the largest and the one further away from the city.

Nightlife in Milan

Milan and nightlife are the best combination you could imagine.

Starting from 11pm up to 4am, young adults and grown ups go around the city feeling alive and living their lives the way it should be done: HAVING FUN.

Full of pubs and discos and bars, Milan starts waking up at night. Lights down and the music starts pumping.
